Ecumenical Quiet Days 2018 - 2019

The Ecumenical Quiet Days (EQD) that are organised for Churches Together in Marston and Northway start their third season this month.

They were started as an initiative of the Sisters of the Assumption who were resident in the parish of St Anthony of Padua. Sadly the sisters left Oxford in 2016 and an ecumenical group decided that as a tribute to the sisters they would try to continue the EQDs.

The leader of each quiet day is free to choose their own topics and format, so that people can attend without any preconceived ideas and are prepared to learn or be challenged. In the past there have been days that have focused on prayer, bible topics, music, and art. It has also been a deliberate decision not to make reference to the religious denomination of the leaders when advertising the EQDs.

All are welcome and attendees will find that there is emphasis on fellowship as well as the spiritual.

The quiet days are held at Marston URC Church, 352 Marston Road, Oxford, OX3 0JB, usually on the third Thursday of each month.

Each day starts at 12 noon with a break between 1:00-2:00pm when you can eat the packed lunch you have brought.

Tea is served at 3:00pm and the day concludes by 4:00pm. It is not obligatory but a donation to cover costs would be appreciated.

The church is fitted with a hearing loop and parking is available.
