Here at St Andrew’s
we are offering a series of presentations under the title “The Bible in
Art and Music”. The idea is to provide an interesting way-in to the
Bible by looking at how some of its themes have been represented over
the years in art and music.
Previously in the series we’ve looked at “the book of Revelation” and at the “cross”. Do join us for our next presentation, which this time will be entitled “Creation and the Garden of Eden”. We’ll be looking at how this core story of the Christian faith has been represented over the years and what this might tell us about its meaning and relevance for today. We’ll be looking at stained glass church windows, Renaissance art, contemporary sculpture, and even tattoo designs! The event is welcome to all and everyone is welcome to join us, whether you are a member of the church or not. No prior knowledge is required – it’s supposed to be informative and all for fun! |
