Lent Talks 2013 - 'Christianity in the Marketplace'

An opportunity to hear the experiences of individual Christians relating their faith to their work and workplace. 

All the meetings will be held on Tuesday evenings at Lime Walk Methodist Church, New High Street from 7.30 p.m - 9 p.m , the exception being the Headington community meeting on 26th February. There will be opportunity to ask questions of the speakers and to engage in discussion . Tea and coffee will also be served during the evening. There is no charge to attend the talks but donations to defray expenses are always welcome. 

Tuesday 19th February - 7.30 p.m : We welcome Dr Noel Tagoe, Executive Director of education working for the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, London. 

Tuesday 26th February - 7.00 p.m : We are invited to attend the Neighbourhood Plan meeting at St Andrew’s School, London Road to share our thoughts about the future development of Headington in an initiative co-ordinated by Headington Action whose Chairman, Mr Patrick Coulter spoke to Churches Together committee recently. 

Tuesday 5th March - 7.30 p.m : Various members from the Churches Together committee will lead our reflections and discussion on the theology of work and the workplace. 

Tuesday 12th March - 7.30 p.m : We welcome Professor Andrew Steane, a scientist and lecturer in Physics at Oxford University 

Tuesday 19th March - 7.30 p.m : We welcome Mrs Sara Bedwell, a Consultant working on behalf of Morgan Cole Law firm in Oxford
