All Saints' Church are hosting a Summer Festival of Music and the Arts, a series of free events on Wednesdays starting at 8pm in the church on Lime Walk Headington. Wednesday, 22nd July, 8pm James Potter and Choral Quartet 'Fratres' present 'All Saints' - a concert of motets in honour of the Saints from the Renaissance to the present day. Wednesday, 29th July, 8pm A tour of the stained and painted glass windows of All Saints' Church, conducted by the Rev. Jim Cocke. Wednesday, 5th August, 8pm All Saints' Choir presents an evening of light opera and close harmony. Wednesday, 12th August, 8pm Poetry Recital: Poet Brian Hodgkinson reads from his recently published poem on Churchill, 'The Saviour of the Nation', followed by a selection of classic favourite poems. Wednesday, 26th August, 8pm Katherine Cooper (Mezzo Soprano) and Matthew Evans (Clarinet) perform works by Mozart, Brahms, and Spohr. Refreshments will be served after all events and give you a chance to meet with the performers and discuss their work. Admission is free of charge, any donations will be gladly received to help cover costs. |
