Earlier this year, we looked at the book of Revelation. We listened to samples of music from composers as varied as J. S. Bach and Richard Wagner, and enjoyed images taken from ancient church mosaics, William Blake etchings, and statues placed on the empty plinth in Trafalgar Square.
Do join us for our next presentation, which this time will be entitled “The Cross in Art and Music”. We’ll be looking at how this core event of the Christian faith has been represented over the years and what this might tell us about what it means. We’ll be looking at depictions of the cross found in ancient churches, in Renaissance art, and even in the recent film by Mel Gibson!
