Easter 2012
The death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ are great mysteries – remarkable events that are celebrated by Christians during Holy Week and in the Easter season.  For Christians these events are at the heart of our faith.  We believe that through Christ’s death and resurrection God broke the bonds of sin and death that cripple and distort human life.  God opened up for us the path to forgiveness and reconciliation, and a new way of living in the light of God’s presence and love.

Our celebration of the events of Holy Week and Easter takes us on a journey of faith in which we encounter betrayal, denial, loss of faith, mockery, torture, murder and suicide.  This journey is at times very dark.  Darkness, however, is not the end of the story.  The Resurrection of Jesus Christ brings us into a new light, a new hope, and a new sense of purpose.  Not only has Christ been raised from the dead, we are raised up with him to share in the glory of the divine life.

If you want to take part in the Christian journey of faith through Holy Week to Easter you will be welcome at any of the celebrations mentioned in this Easter card.

May the light of Christ, rising in glory, dispel the darkness of our hearts and minds.
